Surkh

I was reading a poem once the lines read, “Ishq aur ibaddat dono ka rang Surkh hain’
The word “Surkh” stayed with me.

I am very fond of the Red-Pink colour palette.. these are colours keep reminding me of love, passion, and compassion.

And somewhere it’s these thoughts, that poem I read that afternoon, gave birth to our collection surkh. It’s all about my love, for love… My little curation of love through my eyes. The textiles and embroidery were carefully chosen to set the mood. There is one particular piece that has a lost Turkish embroidery that was once widely used in pashmina shawls and salwars.

Another embroidery pattern I found was created by my great grandmother on a roomal… So bringing all these together was a pure form of ‘surkh’ for me… Hence, surkh became my passion project to discover love yet again. Through colours, patterns, designs that could tell a story of love…
